Mobile Food Hub delivering food to South Cambridgeshire villages
In June 2023, the Mobile Food Hub - Hope on the Go - was launched thanks to funding from South Cambridgeshire District Council, to support communities during the cost of living crisis.
Fresh produce and essential items – some of which will be free and everything else at below retail price – are being brought directly to villages around South Cambridgeshire to help residents with rising food prices. It is the first service of its kind in the district.
Fruit & vegetables, bread, cereal, variety of canned foods, pasta & rice, hygiene products and baby/infant products can all be purchased (subject to what is available on the day). Hope on the Go currently makes weekly visits to the following locations: Duxford, Fulbourn, Linton, Northstowe, Orchard Park and Papworth. These villages were selected based on Census deprivation data, mapped against where there are existing foodbanks.
Anyone can access the Mobile Food Hub - No vouchers or referrals are needed and anyone who feels they may benefit from it – whether once or regularly – is welcome!
We accept payment by Cash or Card. The van will not visit on Bank Holidays or over the Christmas/New Year period.
